Caring for Aging Parents While Planning for Your Own Future Webinar Recording

Plan for What's Importantâ„¢

You have spent years working toward building financial security for the people you love. Lately you may feel pulled in two directions at once, helping children step into adulthood while a parent begins to need more support than before.

It rarely arrives on a schedule. One fall, one difficult phone call, and a family that felt prepared is suddenly making decisions in real time – about care, money, and about what a parent truly wants for their later years.

This presentation is an invitation to get ahead of that moment. Whether your parents are fully independent today or already leaning on you, this hour is for anyone who wants to plan for aging parents’ care while navigating their own future and retirement needs.

What You Can Expect to Learn

• How to recognize when a parent might need more support, including the early signs many families overlook

• What care actually costs, including what Medicare and Long Term Care insurance do and don’t cover

• Why the timing of a housing decision can shape both the options available to your family and the financial outcome

• How the order in which you fund care can make a difference in the ultimate bills

• The documents and team you can consider putting in place now, before a crisis forces decisions to be made

Your Presenters

Adam Hale, CFP®, a Senior Financial Planner at EP Wealth Advisors guides clients through the financial side of caring for aging parents, from funding care in a tax-aware order to protecting a client’s own retirement along the way. This session draws directly from that work with real families.

Jill Love, Senior Care Consultant at Peters & Love, joins as our expert guest. She helps families assess aging love ones’ care needs, understand the range of care and housing options available, and navigate the transitions that come with each option. She holds a master's degree in gerontology from the USC Davis School of Gerontology and is Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) licensed. Her MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management means she understands the business of care as clearly as the care itself, which matters when the decision is also a financial one.

Together, Adam and Jill show how the financial plan and the care plan work as one.
